Many of today’s keyboard shortcuts were created before today’s other input devices, such as a mouse, were even invented. Let’s take a look at a few of these because sometimes these shortcuts can save you a lot of time.

parkin_keyboard_01.jpg

The star of this show is the Control key. Can’t find it on your keyboard? That’s because it is identified with the letters C - t - r - l and that key is located at the bottom left of your keyboard.

parkin_keyboard_02.jpg

OK, let’s look at a file folder named Folder_X, which contains several documents, and we will use the shortcut keys to make changes to it.

parkin_folders_01.png

Maybe you want to copy all of the contents from Folder_X and paste them into a different folder, Folder_Y. First you make sure the Folder_X window is the active window, by clicking on the top bar of the window. Then, hold down the “Ctrl” key and at the same time press the “A” key on your keyboard. Notice that all the documents in Folder_X are highlighted, which means they have all been selected.

parkin_folders_02.png

Now, hold down the “Ctrl” key again and this time press the “C” key. This copies your documents into your computer’s temporary memory.
Next, you click in the Folder_Y window to make it the active window and hold down Ctrl and the V key. This pastes all your copied documents into Folder_Y.

parkin_folders_03.png

So, you have already learned three great keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl + A, Ctrl + C, and Ctrl + V. These will work on any Windows system, and with any Microsoft software applications.

Let’s not stop there! We used Ctrl + A to select all documents and objects within an active window. What if we wanted to choose only four items from a list to copy to another folder, but those four items are not next to each other. You could copy each one separately. Or, you could follow this handy trick.

While holding down the Ctrl key, and using your mouse, click on each of the documents you want to copy. In this case, I clicked on three documents: “falltrees1”, “pumpkin1”, and “sunrise1”. After I have selected my documents, I then used Ctrl + C to copy them, and Ctrl + V to paste them into another location.

parkin_folders_04.png

Using the same folder of documents, let’s say I wanted to copy everything between the “flowers” document and the “ShoutOut” document. I could use the same process I just used by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking on each of the documents I want to copy.

However, it would be so much easier if I clicked on the “flowers” document and then, while holding down the Shift key, I clicked on the “ShoutOut” document. When you do this, you will see that those two documents, plus each document in between, are now all highlighted and ready for you to copy to another location, using your new keyboard shortcut skills.

parkin_folders_05.png

When you make a habit of using keyboard shortcuts, you will find you have fewer errors and can save you time as you work with copying and moving documents and other objects on your computer.

My generation can't possibly see being without Mario 64, Goldeneye, or starfox 64. Today I'll be showing you how to play these instant classics on your desktop or laptop computer. But I'm going to stop here, and assume you already own a valid copy of the games you plan on downloading, that's the only legal way to do this.

First thing is first. A "rom" is like a virtual copy of the game and the "emulator" is what allows the rom to run. Now let's get an emulator so we can do some classic gaming. Open firefox, opera, internet explorer or whatever web browser you use.

1: Navigate to http://www.brothersoft.com/games/project64.html, click download TBC.
Install by clicking next twice then install.

1.jpg

2: Open your browser once again and head to http://www.emuparadise.org/Nintendo_64_ROMs/9

2.jpg

3: Now, choose a game that you OWN but would also like to play on your computer.

3.jpg

4: I myself will be choosing starfox, so I'll be clicking "S" then scrolling down to find the title "Star Fox 64" USA.

5: Click the title then scroll down to find the direct download link.

4.jpg

6: Click the direct download link and then click it again once you're at the new page. After its downloaded, save the rom on your desktop.

5.jpg

7: Now open Project 64.

7.jpg

Press file, open rom and select Star Fox64(USA).n64 from your desktop.

8.jpg

The game is now started!

9.jpg

That's it for my tutorial, I hope someone enjoys playing Nintendo 64 games as much as I do.

Using a search engine is as easy and quick to use as 1-2-3.
All you need is a computer and the internet and you are just about there.
1. First you must open up a browser to gain access the internet.
2. Once on all you haft to do is type in the name of the search engine you would like to use. I am going to be demonstrating how to use Google.

3. Once you have entered in the web address then you press the enter key. This will bring up the web site.
4. Once the web site is brought up then in the blank space provided all you haft to do is type in what you would like to know. Keep it short and very specific to what you would like to know. The more words that you type in the more web sites it’s going to bring up, and the more garbage you are going to haft to sort through to find what you won’t.

Above I have demonstrated searching for party busses.

What you are going to end up with is something that looks like the above picture. What we have is a list of web sites that have party bus or some deviation of it in the description of their web sites. From here a person can pick and choose which sites they would like to view based on the description of the site given. There we have it, search engines easy to use and very helpful.

You go away for a night, and forget to shut down the computer while your sitter is there.

stonerock1.png

When you return home you notice your computer is running a little sluggish.

What to do you ask yourself?

You have ran you disk clean up and your defragmenter.

Frist you go to your favorites, then you selcet the history tab,and the day you want to view.

stonerock2.png

Finally you click on the day and then select the sites you are not sure of, you can organize by time of when they were viewed as well.

If you double click on a site it will take you to that site, however I do not recommend it if you are not sure of the site.

Stonerock3.png

That is how to check your babysitters activity while you are away.

How to eliminate CRAP from your life

Bye: DR. Douglas P. Hoffman, PHD (purely honorary degree) Delta college

Crap! A subject no one wants to talk about butt it’s a reality of life. Thus the term “Shit Happens”.
After extensive research on my part I have found that most people can find relief by going through these steps:
doug2.JPG
1. Sit down in a quiet and calm environment.

2.Let your mind drift off into a dream like state and imagine you are…………. About to start typing that urgent paper for your boss when!!!!!!!!

an error message pops up stating an error has occurred and windows must shut down. Instantly you realizes nothing had been saved.
CRAP OCCURS
doug3.JPG
thumping
doug4.JPG
smashing
doug6.JPG
bashing
doug8.JPG
slashing
doug9.JPG
shooting
doug10.JPG
Well…….

doug11.JPG
Final option give up!!!!!!! Go get a beer

Now that you have simulated these terrible actions in your imagination and released all your frustration, you’re ready to tackle that electronic beast called a computer.

CRAP psychological term for Computer rage anxiety phobia.
Computer rage is a heightened physiological response with associated feelings of anger and frustration resulting from using a computer or other complex electronic device. It may result in the physical assault of the computer or similar item. …
Phobia is the unfounded fear of someone or something.
Source: Freebase
A common approach is the Fonzie Principle, also known as Percussion Therapy, where the user punches the computer and, somehow, the problem fixes itself.
According to Sydney University psychologist Kate Baggs, a more constructive way of dealing with computer rage is to fantasize about Percussion Therapy, rather than acting it out.
So, if your computer is driving you to despair, take it outside and shoot it, throw it from the top of a building, flatten it with a steam roller, or use the mouse for golf practice. In your dreams, of course. (computer rage web site)

How to Access WiFi Networks
luke0.png

1. Depending on whether your computer has come equipped with a wireless network adapter, you should be able to connect to a WIFI connection.
2. On your system tray you should see an icon which indicates the presence of a wireless network(s) and the ability to connect to it.
3. A small pop-up will list the networks that are currently in range.
luke1.jpg
4. Choose the network you’d wish to connect to and insert any security information needed to connect.
luke2.jpg
5. Sometimes it isn’t this easy due to the security settings required by the router to connect.
6. If the connection fails, click on the wireless icon once more and choose “Open Network and Sharing Center”
7. On the left hand side bar, choose Manage Wireless Networks.
8. Here will be a historical list of the networks you have tried to connect to in the past.
9. Right click on the correct SSID (Router Name) and choose properties.
luke3.jpg
10. Validate the information given on this page with the requirements needed to connect to your router. Many routers are different and it may take a bit of time to master this technique. Once successfully connected, your computer should remember the information and will automatically connect to the network in the future.
